Week 7

Back to Rush

Lesson 1

LESSON 1

Using your hard copy of Rush, or using EverNote to open up your pdf of Rush, highlight the different elements we've discussed.

Use one colour to refer to each of the concepts: Pitch, Duration, Tone Colour, Structure, Texture, Dynamics and Expressive Techniques, labelling using correct terminology.

Collate this into different pages on your EverNote.

Refer to the Coggle mindmap if you're out of ideas.

If you aren't a visual learner and prefer hearing the music or saying your analysis, you can create a video-selfie analysing Rush based on the concepts, and upload to EverNote. You must still refer to specific passages and features.

Lesson 2

LESSON 2

Musicology Essay Question 4 Practice

Discuss how interest is created in Hindson's Rush, with reference to the concepts of music.

You can either hand write this and take a photo to upload to EverNote, or type your response into EverNote.

Use your annotations to support your discussion.

Practice

Use the remaining time  in the lesson to practice your Mandatory Topic piece in preparation for the Performance Run through next week.

Ask for feedback from peers and the teacher!

And like before, create a self-reflective 'video selfie' and upload it to EverNote:

  1. What was your goal of the lesson (composition or performance)? Your goal should be specific (eg. Today I will figure out my fingering for these bars, and work on intonation.)

  2. How did you plan to achieve your goal?

  3. Did you achieve your goal, and to what extent?

  4. Next lesson/practice time, what will you do? What's the next step in your performance/composition?
